KAMIZDAT Night @ MENT Ljubljana
/// Domača spletna založba Kamizdat s svojim večerom na MENTu napoveduje serijo dogodkov v Pritličju. Založba, ki je sicer nastala že leta 2006, je na novo zaživela leta 2013, ko se je začela osredotočati na lokalne avtorice in avtorje drugačnih, predvsem pa izzivalnih elektronskih zvokov. Občasni fizični izidi so prave raritete omejenih naklad, temu primerno tudi edinstveno izdelani in opremljeni. Med svoje vrednote Kamizdat šteje: DIY etiko, lokalno akcijo, svobodno programsko opremo, skrb za okolje in kritično teorijo. Na založbini paleti je med drugim tudi večni zvočni raziskovalec Luka Prinčič aka Nova deViator, ki je obenem tudi programski vodja založbe in polovica dvojca Wanda & Nova deViator, kjer ustvarja z Majo Delak.
►Na tokratnem večeru se bodo predstavili: Lifecutter, Kikiriki – noise, Warrego Valles, Nova deViator in poseben gost iz tujine – Goto80(Švedska). Na vizualijah bo VJ 5237.

SVOBODNA GLASBA: UMETNIKOVO ZDRAVILO ALI STRUP?

20 let po rojstvu formata MP3 in motnjah, ki jih je povzročil v tesnem sodelovanju z vznikom informacijskih mrež, ter deset let po nastanku slovenskega prevoda licenc Creative Commons (za ustvarjalno gmajno!) – orodja, ki naj bi začasno omililo neustreznost sistema avtorske pravice v vse-povezani sodobnosti –, se ponovno sprašujemo, kakšen pomen imajo te spremembe za ustvarjalke in ustvarjalce glasbe ter glasbeno industrijo, ki je od njih odvisna. Z gosti bomo predstavili nekaj različnih načinov spletnega objavljanja glasbe, z njimi povezane koristi in težave, ter predebatirali pomen ustvarjalne gmajne.

/// With its night at MENT, Slovenian netlabel Kamizdat is announcing a series of events at Pritličje. The label, first established in 2006, was resurrected in 2013, when it started focusing on local authors of different and above all challenging electronic sounds. Its occasional physical releases are true limited edition rarities, uniquely designed and packaged. Kamizdat’s values are a DIY ethos, local action, free software, environmental awareness and critical theory. The label’s roster includes eternal sonic explorer Luka Prinčič aka Nova deViator, who is also the head of the label and half of Wanda & Nova deViator, a duo with Maja Delak.

20 years after the birth of the MP3 format and the disruption it caused in close cooperation with the emergence of information network, and ten years after the introduction of the Slovenian translation of the Creative Commons licences – a tool that was supposed to temporarily soften the unsuitability of the copyright system in the all-connected modernity –, we again ask what these changes mean for musicians and the music industry that depends on them. Together with our guests we will present several different ways of releasing music online, their pros and cons, and discuss the meaning of creative commons.
