Mladila se je in dozorevala, a ohranjala poljube, nekatere obraze, barve in svoj močan glas.«

You are invited to a retrospective multimedia exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the Pride Parade in Ljubljana. The exhibition represents the material and activist heritage and demonstrates hard work and the importance of the fight for the rights of LGBTIQ + people. It is a display of all the pride parades so far, placed in the socio-political context of the city of Ljubljana. It highlights the most important elements of each parade and carries a strong message of the fight for the rights of LGBTIQ + people, the fight for human rights in the local environment.

The exhibition consists of 147 photographs on 30 billboards, 20 video installations from reportage recordings, 20 posters, invitations and everything else that can be connected with the events at the nineteen Ljubljana pride parades. It is an overview of the last 19 years with a prediction of the future, starting with the 20th Pride Parade in Ljubljana. The photographic part of the exhibition was prepared and edited by Jasna Klančišar and Maja Ličen, the video installation by Petra Hrovatin and Rob Noon.

The main part of the multimedia exhibition will be in the Right Atrium of Ljubljana’s City Hall. The second part, “ waiting station”, will be in Pritličje as the number of people who can see the exhibition at the same time is limited. While waiting to enter the multimedia part you will be able to see an exhibition of posters showing the graphic images of the Pride Parade from 2001 to 2020 inside Pritličje.

From Maja Ličen’s review:
“The exhibition answers the question “What is a pride parade?” and is a step from the obvious, the known, the clear, to the not always exposed, but at the same time important. Throughout the 20 years of the Pride Parade in Ljubljana, the march has expanded significantly, changing its energy, focusing on various issues and more flags are waving every year. It rejuvenates and matures, but keeps kisses, faces, colors, and its strong voice.”
