Mateja Merkandel: The Other Closet, a lecture
We are going to talk about what kind of legislation is available in Slovenia to protect victims of violence / survivors. What kind of obstacles are the victims / survivors facing when they want to speak out and how the lesbian community is coping with intimate partner violence. What are the specifics of violence in lesbian partnerships and what would be good to know if we find out a person close to us is in a situation in which they experience violence?
Mateja Merkandel is a social worker, counsellor in the field of violence at Association for Nonviolent Communication, and member of the Lesbian-Feminist University [Lezbično-feministična univerza] collective.
